FRIENDSHIP, FEELINGS AND LIES
Anybody can lie to you at any time, a parent, a sibling, a spouse or even a friend, lying is not always bad if you will ask me, we lie sometimes to safe face, we lie to protect others from the hurt of what the truth will do to them because we will know what their reaction will be if they get the truth, sometimes, the truth is not something you just drop at one’s feet, you tell it gradually.
I have lied so many times to my friends and have them do the same to me, sometimes we know when the other person is lying, but we understand that the time for which the person will tell us the truth is not now and the truth will definitely spur out in a future time, so we give them the time to come out with the truth. My closest friend tells me almost everything, and almost as soon as it happens, I am usually the first person to hear about anything. Our discussions are usually lengthy, and his wife always wonders what we are discussing at times. But even with this closeness, we sometimes lie to each other.
“Friends don’t lie” is just a saying. A person who lies to you is not a friend, which is a fallacy of thought to me, but when a person lies constantly, then the person can't be seen as a friend, a person whose intensions is to cheat you also cannot be referred to as a friend. My measurement of a friend is having a person who stands by me no matter what and doesn’t judge my character at every opportunity they get. A friend is a support system, sometimes stronger than a family bond; they are our chosen family. Trusting a person to me has to do more with understanding the other person, their limitations, and strength and allowing them to gain your trust. One who lies to you constantly can be your greatest backup and shield outward.
Just like I said earlier, friends that lie to you are not real friends, but the fact remains that we lie every day, and most times it's not with bad intentions; sometimes we are just trying to save ourselves from getting into trouble unnecessarily.
It is always good to surround ourselves with friends who can look us in the eye and tell us the truth, friends who look out for our own growth and not just theirs, friends who are not just there because they just want to hear us talk. But those who are willing to listen deeply and understand and support us in any way they can. The gift of good friendship is something I value so much, and I don't joke with my friends.

Lolz, truth be told, I like it plain, I like dealing with the truth rather than lies. My friends also understand my personality. Just like learned personnel do (lawyers). You need to say your truth and allow them build their defense with the truth you've told them. If you tell them lies, forget that case; they will lose it. What am I trying to say? Truth is better at the first value. If you tell me a lie and later come back with the truth. I will doubt that truth because the first value has depreciated. How do I know or believe that you've come with the truth? I may assume that it has been diluted and tweaked to suit the person. Though I appreciate your sincere submission. Hehheh, that issue of lie is something all of us do just that we need to know when to draw the line. Some people lie even when they know that the situation on ground demands truth.

I as well value friendship, and when we lie, it's not as if it's that convenient, or that we have bad intentions. A good friend should be able to look you in the eye and tell you things straight up, the way it is.
