With the recent release of South Park Snow Day, a game that seems to have left quite bitter opinions among most fans of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's iconic series, I think this is a brilliant opportunity to revisit the previous South Park games. the franchise, which in my opinion knew how to perfectly capture the essence of South Park.

Although for many people this was seen as coming considering that Snowday was a $30 release (contrary to other titles like Stick of Truth or Fractured But-Whole that cost $60), I find it ironic that this argument is used to justify the mediocrity of its release. quality, especially when there is the example of South Park: Phone Destroyer.

You see, for those who don't know that title, Phone Destroyer is a spin-off for smartphones that was released a couple of years ago, presented as a free to play that simplified the formula of the original RPGs and introduced new elements of card strategy, this, of course, with the aim of organically adapting to the mobile format.

The brilliant thing about Phone Destroyer is that it not only manages to establish itself as an entertaining video game to kill time, but it is also a worthy continuation of the adventures of our nameless protagonist on home consoles, immersing us in the South Park universe in an organic way.

Developed by RedLynx, South Park Digital Studios and Ubisoft, the premise of Phone Destroyer is quite simple: we put together a deck of 12 cards and face various rivals inspired by the series with the aim of "destroying their phones", each of the cards It will have a different character or ability and the key that will lead us to victory will be knowing how to manage them correctly.

Apart from this, we obviously have all the features we expect from a freemium video game: microtransactions, waiting times to receive free rewards, constant farming mechanics and a multiplayer mode to test our skills.

While on the surface South Park Phone Destroyer is nothing particularly special, we must recognize that it is a video game that rests on two factors: its simple and effective game system, as well as the ability to perfectly portray the atmosphere of South Park in terms of humor and visual aspect.

I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you are fans of the animated series and are looking for a perfect title to kill time, the games are short and the difficulty curve is quite decent.
