Reviewing my new Redmi Buds 6 Active. A solid purchase.

About two months ago I lost my old headphones, a pair of Redmi Buds Lite 4 that I was honestly much happier with and had no plans to change them in the near future.

Although they were quite cheap ($30 or so, at least at the time of release) and were much simpler than their high-end counterparts, I felt that they were a brilliant option in terms of quality-price, they were comfortable and I liked their aesthetics.

Of course, after losing them I was forced to look for a new pair, so it was time to look into what options were currently on the market.

As with phones, looking for a new pair of airbuds today is a complicated but interesting task, since there are multiple options offered by different brands at different prices, starting from luxurious alternatives such as the Airpods Pro, to others a little more humble.

Since I was on a limited budget and had a trip planned in a few days (and obviously, the idea of spending a couple of hours on a flight without listening to music seemed tortuous to me) I decided to look for the most "economical" options. That's how I came across the Redmi Buds 6 Active, again, part of Xiaomi's cheapest line, but with some updates that justified the already obligatory upgrade.

With a price of almost 30 dollars (although in Xiaomi's virtual store they are found at 20), the Redmi Buds 6 Active maintain a design line very similar to the 3 lite, with a small and compact case, and without using the rubber on the earbuds of which they are not a big fan.

And, although in terms of sound quality the difference is almost imperceptible, I appreciate the new features it has, such as a more precise location system, and compatibility with the relatively new "Xiaomi Earbuds" application, which allows us to configure the touch control of our headphones.

It sounds like a silly thing but it can be particularly useful, especially if we tend to charge the earbuds on the street while we have our SmartPhone stored away. In my case, for example, I left all the controls as they come from the factory, but I set up a couple of special commands to lower and raise the music volume.

Obviously there are better options on the market, but it is undeniable that for $20 it will be very difficult to find a better option, and they are particularly recommended if you have a Xiaomi phone (MI, Poco or Redmi) considering the synergy that there would be within the HyperOS ecosystem).

Should you buy them? If you have a limited budget of course you should, accepting that there are some more luxurious functions such as noise cancellation that you will not be able to access.

Btw, I also love that my earbuds match my phone haha
