The 2018 phase of our Steem fundraising experiment is now complete

Yesterday marked the end of the 2018 phase of our Steem fundraising experiment for the Rustin Golden Knights Marching Band. The power-down that was announced on January 26 has finished

The good news is that from July 17 through the end of our power down, we brought in 124.342 STEEM by posting and autovoting. The bad news is that during that same time period, STEEM lost about 75% of its value, falling from $1.65 to $0.41. So, factoring in good and bad, and after fees from @blocktrades and coinbase.com, the total amount raised was $47.21. We have written a check to the band boosters for that amount and will be sending it in to school tomorrow.

As long as we're posting anyway, here are some final photos from last year's show. Now we're looking forward to the 2019 marching band season.

As posted last year, this account will stay active through the 2019 marching band season and will be permanently deactivated after that. Any funds raised by this account during 2019 will be powered down in the beginning of 2020 and likewise donated to the marching band's boosters organization.
