The Human Touch.... to combat CHAT GPT...?
Ezoic, the ad company I partner recently put out a webinar on how content creators might respond to the increase in AI generated content....
What was most interesting to me was the extreme LACK of good advice despite the overview suggesting it had plenty...
The 30 minute webinar didn't really have anything to say about bullet points one and two, other than to reiterate best SEO practice to their knowledge - headings, tags, pictures and so on.....
And bullet points one and two were covered in one simple fact...
AI isn't human...
So unless a content creator is blatantly lying about using AI to generate content they can't pretend to be an expert in the field they are writing about, and that led onto the one strategy humans can use as content creators against AI...
Prove your authentic, human expertise on your blog...
This basically boiled down to updating your 'about page' with personal details, preferably including a photo, and specifying your qualifications and personal experience as with the example below which covers four things...
- Experience
- Expertise
- Authoritativeness
- Trustworthiness
Or E-E-A-T for short...
The general idea was to make this short enough that you can save a block to include in all or most of your pages and posts, and hammer it.
Will this be enough...?
Well it can't hurt, and I guess discerning users are looking to get information of people who know their stuff and have a proven track record of being able to solve problems and provide the right answers.
And thinking about it content on the internent has suffered from repetitiveness now for a long time - as in there's lots of sites with the same information referencing the same experts, but very little produced by the source-experts themselves.
And this is only going to get worse with AI content, and maybe people are already sick of this.
So possibly this can work... assuming people want the personal touch, and whether they do or not will depend on what they are looking for.
I updated my bio page anyway, it can't hurt!
I think we will all be using AI for assisting with writing and I don't consider that as a bad thing as long as we put our own touch, our opinions and mark on the matter.
And verify the data, of course!
Em, but I'm not sure how this distinguishes humans from AI?
The main thing with AI is a kind of blandness - it can be impressive but it's not littered with idiosyncratic language. I'm guessing if we were presented with anonymous posts by people we knew, we would be able to say who the author was with a fair degree of accuracy, because we would have learned the writer's voice over time.
Although I did read one columnist who had asked AI to write in the style of [himself] and it did a very good job!
I did that and it did a terrible job 🤣
That's better, isn't it? 😁
It's literally just a matter of saying 'I'm human'!
Depends on people's preferences I guess.
oh, I see!
It''s a shame we have to go through all this confusion before we can get to applying AI to taking the drudgery out of things. I was interested to see universal basic income in being trialled in two places - East Finchley and somewhere else. People get £1600 a month, can work or not, etc. A lot of emphasis on health and well-being in the study. be great if we could the majority of money out of healthcare, government and compliance and into people's pockets ...
I saw that in the news, be interesting to see the results!
Can't hurt. If a company is using AI content I won't interact with them at all.
Fair enough, it is a bit cold, to say the least!
The way we see that nowadays this software is becoming very popular and many people are using it, I have to say here that what the human mind can do, nothing can be done even by me today. Haven't used it yet.
You should check it out, it's interesting!
Ok
Eerm... well, I suppose all that is gonna depend of what specific version of ChatGPT are you using and how fancy and sophisticated are the algorithms behind the AI which control your content as an authentic expert content creator. Right?
Well I guess AI could only rip from verified sources of course.
Well, I do not go with the idea of using AI to write articles. We will just continue to get dumber and it will reduce our creativity...
I think it is better to write with our heads
