The Indian Government is Investigating Telegram App

This news might not be good for people using the Telegram application. I know that WhatsApp is a prevalent social media application but Telegram is also a prevalent application. It is better than what say for multiple reasons. I use this application and I also use WhatsApp but I believe the use case with Telegram is a bit different. I can see a lot of bots used with Telegram but with WhatsApp, I don't know if it is possible or not but I don't see much. There are very few companies offering the auto-response on WhatsApp through the bot mechanism. But if I talk about the telegram then there are so many options that are available in Telegram.

Even now to tap-to-earn gaming segment is completely built on Telegram and it is the only place where you can access it. Amazingly, we can play the game within the application itself and we don't need to install anything. It clearly shows how this application is so advanced in terms of technology that we can do lots more apart from just sharing the messages and media. That is the core feature of the application but it also allows to have bigger communities and this is why the crypto projects are choosing Telegram as an application to connect with the community.

Pavel Durov is the co-founder and CEO of the messaging app Telegram and he has been arrested by the French authorities. According to the France government, this is not a political decision and this arrest has been done because of the misuse of the telegram application. The government wants to have censorship with this application and the founder is saying that that is not an option because he believes in privacy and because of this is not ready to give the back door entry to any authority that can spy on people's privacy. I think it's a valid point because if social media applications are censored then it does not serve the purpose. After all, whatever we share can be tracked by the government.

Now Indian government is also investing in the Telegram application for some misuse and criminal activities so if it is found true then there is a probability that the government might ban the application. In the past, we have seen how some of the popular and bigger applications were banned in the country and TikTok was one of them. This was a very popular and growing application that time that was banned in 2020 until now this has not been unbanned even after four years. India is a big market for these companies and this is why most of the companies try to have their presence in the country. In this case, I don't think it is the mistake of the founder because he has created an app only. He has given a platform for people to use for their convenience similar to WhatsApp and if somebody is misusing the application for some illegal purpose then it is the responsibility of the user, not the founder.

I hope there is some solution to this problem and the founder of the Telegram application is released by the French government. I also hope that India does not ban this application because there are so many things based on the telegram and if in case it is banned then Indians wouldn't be able to use the application for tap to earn gaming projects and this will impact them a lot. Let's stay hopeful that things turn out to be good and resolve in less time so that there is no impact of Telegram application accessibility in India but at the same time also be prepared for some worst if something goes wrong.
