Managing my Digital Wellness in Daily Life
Hello and Namaste Everyone
We are surrounded by highly advanced technology and various digital devices and it is all good for us in different ways. These gadgets and devices are making our life easy and convenient but at the same time there has to be some discipline in place to ensure that we are not addicted to it. For example mobile phone is one of the devices that we use a lot throughout the day for various purposes but the excessive use of mobile phone is not good for us. Other devices like laptops tablets televisions and many others are also making things easy for us but again the same principle applies there as well to ensure a considerate use of those devices.
A digital word looks quite attractive that we can explore through these devices with the help of Internet but we need not to make a distance from the real life. Real life is the reality that we live on and digital life looks even more attractive but there has to be balance between both to ensure that we are connected with the real people and we stay on ground.
I use mobile phone in a discipline manner which means I do not spend so many hours on my mobile phone screen. For that reason I have taken a basic feature phone which is just good for making calls and text and nothing else can be done through this mobile phone device. I also have a smartphone that I use for various reasons and also use social media on my phone.
Earlier I used to spend a lot of time on phone screen which was roughly about 4 to 5 hours. Since last few months I follow a different practice because I want to reduce my screen time. I got a basic phone which is good for phone calls and I keep this phone with me all the time. This is very helpful in my schedule that helps me to reduce my screen time because I don't keep my smartphone with me all the time. Having a phone is necessary because this is the device that keep us connected with our near and they are ones and in my case it also does the same. Now since I don't keep the smartphone with me all the time so almost 1 to 2 hours I use it for different purposes including social media and working on this platform. I also prefer more work on PC then mobile phone because that screen is not as bad as a smartphone screen.
I hardly use smartphone in a day for more than 2 hours and I have reduced my screen time nicely and I hope that with this practice I should be able to reduce it will more. I don't watch YouTube on phone until unless there is something very important and I preferred what you don't television because big screen is not as bad as smartphone. This is my way of managing my digital wellness because digital devices are around us but we need to take care of our eyes and also the time that we spend on these devices.
We are in the era where technology is advanced along with highly advanced devices so it is hard for us to stay away but with some discipline we can surely manage our digital wellness and a better schedule. I hope that with this way I'll be able to manage a considerate schedule for my screen time and now I get more time to do many other things in real word then spending on screen and ultimately less screen time is what we should all achieve.
Thank you so much
