Toyota's “pokémon” robotic chair
Toyora surprised the world by presenting the Walk Me at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, an autonomous robotic chair that can walk, climb stairs, balance and even fold itself. The concept breaks with the traditional idea of the wheelchair, replacing the wheels with four intelligent robotic legs capable of adapting to practically any type of terrain.
Its legs can bend, rotate and adjust independently, guaranteeing balance and smoothness even on inclined surfaces, stairs or gravel floors. Before climbing steps, the front legs analyze the height, while the rear legs propel the body of the chair, all coordinated by the lidar sensors that ensure total safety for the user. If an obstacle arises on the way, the collision radars stop the movement instantly and the system readjusts the center of gravity to avoid falls.
