Figure, the North American company, presented the first glimpse of its seventh generation of robotic hands, showing a figure 03 robot in silhouette, performing complex movements that indicate an important leap in the search for so-called human parity. According to CEO Brett Cock, it took 3 years of silent development to reach this moment.

While the human is the main advance in its third generation, the hand has already reached the seventh version, a clear sign of where the company believes the real bottleneck of robotics is. From the images released, the new hand shows a much greater level of freedom of movement. The fingers can open and close laterally, allowing stability on irregular objects.

The thumb presents complete rotation and opposition to the other fingers, a fundamental detail for precise movements such as fine gripping and delicate manipulation, this type of movement is precisely what differentiates a machine capable of transporting boxes from a really useful robot within homes, hospitals and complex industrial environments, although the complete technical details have not yet been revealed, analysts point out that the new generation should integrate advanced touch sensors and perception systems linked to the company's Helix 2 architecture that combines vision and control.

For Figure, this evolution is part of an even larger plan, the company intends to scale production in its factory and reach tens of thousands of units per year, betting that manual dexterity will be the central element to make humanoids economically viable.
