Yellowish-green cricket

Beauty often appears without us expecting to notice it, like this insect I encountered, perched peacefully on the edge of a leaf. The wind rustled the leaf, but the insect remained calm and silent. It seemed like this tiny insect was enjoying the world at a modest height.

At first, I thought it was a grasshopper. After observing it for a while, I realized it had long antennae, which is not a characteristic of grasshoppers. I then posted this observation on inaturalist, and it turned out to be a cricket from the Tettigoniidae family. In Latin, this cricket is known as Conocephalus maculatus.

I haven't found an official name for this cricket in my local Indonesian language. However, this time I want to call it the yellowish-green cricket, because its body is yellowish-green with brown hues. There's something new about this cricket: its translucent body. This is the first time I've encountered an insect with a clear body. This is truly an extraordinary discovery nature provides for the eye that pauses and observes.
