Tawny cockroach

On a green leaf still damp with morning dew, I found a tiny creature resting peacefully. It was a tawny cockroach, a member of the Ectobiidae family. In Latin, this cockroach is known as Ectobius pallidus. The cockroach I encountered this time was slightly different from the ones often seen playing in kitchens and bathrooms. This cockroach didn't flee when approached. It stood still, motionless.

Look at its beautiful light brown color. Its body reflects a beautiful sheen as the soft light of the rising sun reflects off its tiny body. Not only is its color attractive, but also the pattern on its wings. The pattern is a fine web-like pattern. This unique pattern is only visible to the eye that takes the time to observe it.

As for its habitat, this cockroach, like other cockroaches in general, prefers environments with high humidity. Like this one I found in a small patch of bushes by the river, where the soil was also damp. Furthermore, the bushes were under a shady tree, so the temperature felt cool and soothing.
