Shield bug

In this fast-paced world, there's a small corner where time seems to stop for a moment. There, on a green leaf, a small insect rests peacefully. I slowly approach its location. The insect doesn't flee as I approach, but it emits a foul odor. It's so foul, it makes me dizzy just being near it. I quickly take a photo from a distance, unable to stand the scent. The foul odor it emits is a powerful defense against enemy attacks.

The insect I encountered is called a shield bug, a member of the Tessaratoma genus. This insect is a major pest of lychee, longan, and jengkol trees. They attack these three plants by sucking the sap from the fruit and young shoots. Fruit that has been sucked by the insect's sap will fall off and rot. Likewise, the shoots will wilt. If many shoots wilt, the tree will likely die slowly. However, I found this not on these three plants, but on a wild plant at the edge of the forest.
