Moth | Daphnis placida
Hello everyone, good afternoon wherever you are, how are you this afternoon? Hope you are fine wherever you are.
I"m back here again and on this occasion I want to show you some beautiful shots of a moth basking in the morning sun. When we first met, this moth was dancing in the air to get close to a flower. However, I couldn't capture the moment, I waited until the moth stopped somewhere safe for me to snap. The wait paid off, I managed to immortalize the moth.
In Latin, this moth is called Daphnis placida and the moth comes from the Sphingidae family. This moth is one of the most beautiful moths I have ever encountered. Not only is the color attractive, but its large body posture, wide wings and attractive patterns make the moth even more enchantingly beautiful.
One more thing that makes this moth more interesting is its super fast flying technique. If you look closely, the way they fly is almost the same as the way a hummingbird flies. The sound of the wings vibrating is also very distinctive, this sound can only be heard if the moth flies close to us, the sound is subtle but very distinctive.
The way the moth sucks nectar is also very similar to that of a hummingbird, floating in the air. It's like a very skilled dancer dancing in the air elegantly. In terms of habitat, this moth is the same as other insects in general. Insects like open places where there are many food sources and comfortable places to breed.

Thank you for your support.
That's quite a nice shot
Thank you buddy.
Splendid moth. I have one from Paraguyay this year.
Also from Slovakia and Czech republic (other species) but are rare to see.
Yes, right. It seems that this moth is active at night so it is difficult for us to find it. Happy weekend friends.

I saw this insect for the first time in my life. In fact, it seems to me that it is a rare species of insect. I really enjoyed reading your writings about the moth.
