Mimosa pudica flower
In a quiet, rarely visited corner, a beautiful flower was blooming. The flower I found was not large, simple in shape, and unobtrusive in color, but that's precisely where its beauty lies. It was the mimosa pudica, a unique plant from the Fabaceae family.
At first glance, this flower may seem ordinary, but upon closer inspection, it's quite unique and captivating. Mimosa pudica lacks petals like most other flowers. It's filled with hundreds of pink stamens with white tips. Its round shape resembles a cotton ball. However, upon closer inspection, it resembles a frozen miniature firework.
Besides its unique flower, its leaves are even more unique. This plant's leaves possess a property unlike any other plant. When touched, they immediately close tightly. They only open again when it's safe to touch them.
I often wondered why this plant is called the mimosa pudica. But after observing it myself, that question has been answered. I think the name "Mimosa pudica" comes from its leaves, which tend to be shy when touched. Judging by its behavior, the name really suits it.
