Hoverfly

In the midst of the lush green leaves in the park, I was greeted by a tiny creature that was showing off its beauty on one of the leaves there. Its appearance really amazed me, very beautiful, with clear wings and an orange body with black stripes. At first glance, I was almost fooled by its appearance. I thought it was a bee, after observing for a while I realized that it was a hoverfly from the genus mesembrius.

If we look at it briefly, the appearance of the hoverfly is very similar to a bee. There are two things that make it easy for me to distinguish it, namely this hoverfly only has one pair of wings and has short antennae. While bees have two pairs of wings and long antennae. In terms of clothing, it is indeed very similar, the basic orange color is complemented by black stripes with character. It is an insect that is smart in choosing clothes.

By having the same color as a bee, the life of the hoverfly is slightly safer from predators. Predators don't like bees. From this hoverfly we can conclude that nature always has its own way of protecting its little creatures.
