Fly of the genus Isomyia
The morning silence of the wild garden holds so many stories. Nature is truly extraordinary, never ceasing to reveal something remarkable at every moment. This morning, nature presented a stunning sight amidst the quiet wild garden: a beautiful fly from the genus Isomyia. Observe its tiny body reflecting exquisite colors a metallic green with a golden sheen that shifts with the angle of the light.
I first spotted the fly perched gracefully on a green leaf. It didn't fly away as I approached, I snapped a photo while it remained calmly in place. A moment later, I saw it move its front legs and scan left and right, fully alert. I thought it was about to fly off, but I was mistaken, instead, it moved to a flower petal just behind it.
Upon reaching the flower, it didn't immediately search for nectar. Instead, it chose to stand atop the bloom, striking a proud, stately pose. I seized the opportunity right away. Shortly after, it moved to the tip of the petal and paused there for a moment. Only after I had presumably captured the shot did it finally head toward its true destination the source of the nectar.
Judging by how it selected its spot and allowed me time to photograph it, I would say this fly is quite the seasoned pro when it comes to photoshoots expert at choosing the perfect location and timing for the photographer.
