Coral-tailed cloudwing dragonfly
Amidst the dense, interlocking leaves, I managed to spot a coral-tailed cloudwing dragonfly perched peacefully on one of the leaves. This wasn't the first time I'd encountered this dragonfly; I've encountered it many times, but I've never been able to photograph it. This type of dragonfly isn't easy to approach; they usually fly away when I approach.
There were also many similar dragonflies in the location I encountered, most of which fled when I approached. However, this particular one was quite friendly and didn't fly away. Although this dragonfly was friendly and calm, I remained cautious when approaching it, especially when aiming my phone camera at it. I photographed it from a slightly greater distance. Fortunately, its body was visible when I zoomed in a little further.
This dragonfly's coloration is quite beautiful, a golden yellow. It looks warm and serene. There are dark circular lines on several segments of its body. These lines add a natural texture to the dragonfly's body; they aren't flashy or overdone, yet still elegant to look at. Its wings are equally beautiful. Its transparent wings are decorated with an intricate black striped pattern. At first glance, the pattern resembles a delicate, neatly arranged web.
