Common Asian millipede
On a stretch of green grass still wet with morning dew, a common Asian millipede was leisurely strolling across the grass. At first, I thought it was just strolling along the leaves. But after observing it closely for a while, I realized it was drinking water from the dewdrops as it walked. It continued to walk towards the larger dewdrops.
This was the first time I'd seen a common Asian millipede drinking water. I usually see them walking on the ground, dry leaves, and fresh leaves, similar to the one I encountered. When I'm on an insect hunt early in the morning, I often find common Asian millipedes walking on the ground among the bushes. However, most of them don't want me to approach them; they immediately hide when they see me approaching.
But the common Asian millipede I found today was a little different. It wasn't bothered by my presence. It continued to move leisurely there. It was the most unique creature I've ever encountered. It had so many legs. Look at each segment of its body, and you can see a leg underneath it. Most interestingly, when she moves, all her legs move in unison, appearing like small waves flowing gently along her body. It's truly amazing.
