Beetles of the subgenus neocollyris
Among the lush green leaves, my eye caught a tiny creature busily pacing back and forth on one of the leaves. From a distance, I thought it was an ant. Only when I got closer did I realize it wasn't an ant, but a beetle from the subgenus neocollyris, belonging to the subfamily Cicindelinae.
I lingered near this beetle for a while, and I was amazed by its coloration. From a distance, I saw it was jet black. Up close, its body appeared emerald green. This was when the sunlight reflected off its body. When the sun was no longer shining on it, its body color changed to a dark green-black. Its long legs were equally striking, a bright orange that added a striking contrast.
From this, we can see that this beetle is no ordinary beetle, it is a highly skilled magician. If there were a magician's competition in the insect world, I'm sure this beetle would win first place. It truly is extraordinary.
