Greetings again my dear friends I hope you are very well, undoubtedly we have all heard the word diet, and the same, we quickly relate it to our food, however, this time we will relate it to our mind, therefore, let's see what this type of diet, the mental one, is all about.

Without doubting it, we know and accept that if we wish to have a good general health, it is necessary to have an adequate eating habit, sleep and hygiene in all senses, however, beyond the above mentioned, it is necessary to carry out another diet, the mental one, and for this, it is required certain habits and psychological processes that allow us to maintain our mental health, which has an influence on the corporal one.

Let's know what the mental diet consists of

When I hear diet, in my mind comes the word regulation or control, for example, we regulate or control what we eat, therefore, we can say that the mental diet is a form of regulation or control of our thoughts, we are constantly generating any type of thought that oscillates from one side to another in relation to a stable point of emotional balance.

The amplitude of these oscillations of our thoughts, lead us to have, some with positive aspects and others with opposite load, that is to say, negative, therefore, when applying this mental diet, we must regulate and promote those thoughts that generate positivism, and cast aside, those that originate us the opposite, in short, take control of what we think.

The mental diet becomes a psychological exercise that we must implement to go in search of any benefit to our physical-psychological health, of course, this must be done constantly. It is emphasized then, with this type of diet, in the idea of neutralizing all kinds of negative thoughts, it is undoubtedly that we will always have them, just do not manage to divert our way to success, carry out this type of practice can generate benefits such as.

  • Better connection with ourselves, if there is something we have to take care of throughout our existence, it is to get along the best with ourselves, it is the relationship we have to take care of the most, if we really want to obtain our achievements, many people do not manage to have a balanced relationship with themselves, however, through this type of practice you can get as close as possible, remember that no one else but ourselves will keep us company every day of our lives.

  • Possessing a positive emotional state, if we fill our mind or, we give more importance to positive thoughts, for sure we will generate healthy moods, the opposite would originate if we begin to give more room for negative thoughts, we would call undesirable emotional states, such as anxiety, fear, stress, among many others, the mental diet, to put it into practice consistently helps us, to better manage our emotions, allowing us a positive change and, above all, will make us feel better, which is our constant goal.

  • After analyzing the three previous points, it is important to express the essential importance of becoming mental self-trainers, and this can be achieved through the implementation of the constant practice of the mental diet, with it, we will go towards the achievement of all our objectives.

Our thoughts have a great influence on the management of our emotions, the mental diet seeks to provide us with the necessary tools that allow us to identify or detect those thoughts that predominate and are generated in the mind, and whose influence are not pleasant, for example, I'm not worth anything, I can not handle this, everyone around me are bad influences, everything I do goes wrong, among others.

The identification of these thoughts will allow us to control their action in everything we are undertaking in life, and fill or give the mind better thoughts like, I can achieve everything, many people by my side esteem and value me, I learn from mistakes and I get stronger, these thoughts will undoubtedly feed our mind positively, impacting favorably on our mental health.

That's weird. I had never heard about mental diets, and the more I think about it the more bizarre it sounds. At the end, it is not really a diet, but rather a way to react rationally to a situation. Do you agree with my rephrasing?
