AI Has Become a Small but Important Part of Our Everyday Lives

Whenever someone brings up Artificial Intelligence (AI), the first thing that pops into my head is usually those sleek robots from movies. For a while, I honestly assumed AI was only for science fiction stuff. But the more I looked into it, the clearer it became that AI isn't sitting there waiting for some far away future - it's already mixed into my daily routine.

Honestly, I probably tap into it dozens of times a day, without thinking twice.

It Starts Right In My Phone

Like most people, the first thing I grab in the morning is my phone. I unlock it with my fingerprint or face, check the weather, scroll through social media apps, and sometimes I toss a random question at Google. And it never really hit me that AI is behind most of those 'small' actions.
At this point it feels so ordinary that I barely pay attention to it, like almost at all.

Why Does My Phone Knows Me So Well?

Have you ever looked up on thing online, and then pretty much every app starts tossing you related stuff. Or have you noticed how YouTube throws out videos that somehow match exactly what you feel like watching, even if you didn't say it out loud.

It's kind of funny because sometimes it feels like my phone knows me better than I do. Like it can read my inner vibe, when really it can't, not in the way people imagine.

Sure, it isn't literally reading your thoughts. It just learns from your interests, your searches and the stuff you actually watch, so it can serve better suggestions. Still, it's weirdly unsettling too, since it reminds me how much data we hand over every single day.

AI Makes Everyday Life Easier

One thing I generally like is Google Maps. Whether I'm going somewhere unfamiliar, or I'm trying to avoid heavy traffic, it usually finds the best route in seconds. Instead of guessing whihc route would be the best, AI studies live traffic details and helps a lot of people reach their destination sooner.

It's Helpful But It Isn't Perfect

As helpful as AI feels, I don't know that we should depend on it for everything. There are still issues of privacy, misinformation and people leaning too hard on technology. AI can process data quickly, but it can't really replace human judgement, imagination or emotions.
