Iceland is on fire

People always consider that Iceland is a calm state and due to natural beauty it is considered as one of the best tourist spots in the world and on the other hand also it is one of the most dangerous places on earth. You may also agree with it. The fact that it is beautiful makes one tourist feel safe and peaceful there but, de-facto, we witness the contrary scenario taking place right now. I believe I feel Iceland cannot be compared to any other place that is unpredictable. I am stating that there is a reason behind it. I say it because Iceland is the country that can offer you the most beautiful northern lights and quiet glaciers and having demonstrated all that it can demonstrate even the most terrible volcanic eruptions. I would like to tell you about the prevailing state of affairs.

The Iceland was not as busy with the volcanic activities in the days earlier and the tourists visiting the place used to visit the place without hesitating provided they could afford the trip. Citizens did not reject visiting even in case of harsh weather or unpredictability. When visiting it is possible, it used to be considered by everyone that it was a dream destination and it is one type of achievement. All the landscapes seemed to be harmonious and beautiful in the eyes of everyone but they were, in fact, sitting on the top of volcanoes that were active and this made me realize how stupid people can be. They never knew that the calmness was merely a moment and it could at any time turn.

With the passing of time the volcanic activities began to increase and naturally there is not much peace left to the country. In some few incidents the eruptions did not bring in major damages, when they began to occur, and people felt quite relieved of it, but those few eruptions were only warnings, and the nation began to experience more threatening circumstances. The conduct of the volcanoes was as though they had been slumbering centuries and were hitting the jack during the concluding time in full anger. It didn't end there. The lava began to come into the towns and ruined numerous properties and homes of the residents. No one knew what to do since it was not within their ability to do.

The volcanoes were the natural features which gave the country geothermal energy and income of tourism due to several reasons and due to not being careful enough it turned against the people and many people were not expecting it at those times. But nature taught some life lesson to everybody and this lesson was that nature beauty could be transformed into natural disaster unless you admire the power of nature. People understood that since they saw the beauty every minute and they mistook nature. They fearlessly constructed settlements in the active volcanic areas instead of being prepared. They must have taken the volcanoes some sort of decoration that would remain calm always. Accordingly, somehow, it can be mentioned that the humans exploited the land to their advantage and in the name of the development they did not fault the warnings. They were indeed wrong.

There was no volcanic crisis that Iceland had ever experienced before. Having experienced the eruptions a number of times over the recent years, the scientists have deduced that it is rather challenging to predict volcano eruptions and using the little technology they have they cannot avert such calamities. In addition, the majority of individuals who resided in the areas of volcanoes never realized the peril and will always be willing to remain in dangerous regions. And thus the government arrived at the decision of evacuating the towns and saying no when one wants to go back immediately. It is true that it was hard at the start time when the residents wanted to leave their homes but after some time, it became a necessity, and authorities can provide numerous reasons. At times they may be strict as well now when one insists excessively on returning. I believe that the country had forgotten the mindset to overlook volcanic threats easily. They do not take people back unless the situation is absolutely safe. And in case of any intransigent inhabitants they literally speak no since authorities will no longer be worried what people feel about restrictions. The volcanoes were not merciful to the property and the hard mannerism towards the residents that is actually life saving. And in such a manner, people can be spared to be killed or lose everything by the government. They should be interested in safety and it is not a bad thing to do so in my mind.
