Proof of Brain-Blog: Hive Rewards Displayed Everywhere

The Short And Skinny

The short version is basically, refresh your proofofbrain.blog page.

That What

Lists of posts everywhere will display Hive Engine tokens that are to be or have been rewarded. This feature has revealed that it seems profitable to use the #pimp tag for your posts.

The Therefore

Given that posts with the PIMP tag were being rewarded $4,000 worth of PIMP, we should start using that tag all everywhere. Of course by the time those tokens hit your wallet, they may be worth one one-hundredth o the current price and selling them will drop the price at the same time so you wont even get $40, but I think it will still be the most significant part of many people's posts.

The How

Using the Hive RPC, I need to make one call, and I get twenty posts with the rewards included for Hive Power and Hive Dollars. The price of Hive verses dollars is already available in memory because it was done previously by the original devs. The Hive Engine calls, I need to make twenty separate RPC calls. Each one is a network request to a server somewhere and a wait for a response. I can do them all at the same time but I have to wait for the responses to come in before querying which prices I need to ask for. That is another RPC call.

The Hive Engine part is too slow to be done on the second render of the page. So, the list of entry pages first render without Hive Engine data, and then once the data has come in, it renders again. It can take a significant amount of time before that all comes in so it is noticeable but at least there will be no waiting for the post content themselves.

I think this is definitely a cool feature, even if getting all the parts of "talk" together must be a challenge! I'm currently looking into Hive-Engine tokens in more depth, and this is definitely helpful!

I haven't been on Brain Blog for a while. I don't know about other people, but I like the orange even if it isn't a real leprechaun color.

I had some problems uploading images on brain.blog. Maybe my internet is slow today, but it works on other front ends.

All those thousands of PIMP tokens disappeared before payout. Still there is no downvote here, yet the vote you got is now gone. I wonder if you got your reward one day earlier or if you never got your reward....
