My Screen Time Experience During Leo Power Up Day (LPUD)

Before the advent of technology like smartphones and tablets, there was nothing like checking screen time, but now tracking one's screen time, especially with constant connectivity has become a common practice. For me, constantly checking and tracking my screen time has become a significant part of my routine with an average of 10 hours and 7 minutes each day.

This figure may seem much, making me get worried especially when it comes to thinking about my eyes and how much they get stretched for those hours, but breaking it down, it becomes evident how I use my screen time and how swiftly the minutes and hours add up.

Here, I will be talking about the top 3 apps on the list that have become a daily part of me.

The first is the Chrome Browser. They say Chrome is the window to the world, the ubiquitous web browser that serves as everyone's portal to the internet. Chrome is an essential tool for a user's activities like work and leisure.

Chrome is the tool I rely on for various activities, such as researching for a project, reading current news to be abreast of the latest, exploring new topics of interest and prompts for ideas. Chrome is my primary means of assessing information, from social media updates to diving deeper into academic articles, checking for new courses relating to my field of study and casual reading. Getting this information at my fingertips makes Chrome the most used app.

Next is WhatsApp, where I stay connected with family and friends. This app plays an important role in my communication as it is required in today's fast-paced world. Opening this app daily has become a routine for me as it's a place to unwind, laugh and joke with friends, family and colleagues. From quick text exchanges to listening to voice notes, and video calls, sliding through funny statuses, hilarious emojis and stickers, WhatsApp provides a versatile platform for all of these.

The convenience it provides with sharing documents, pictures, videos and location information enhances its utility, making it an essential communication space in my daily life, and not just a messaging app.

The last is Netflix. I call it my entertainment haven. Knowing there is an app ready to entertain you after a long day at work and completing various tasks makes it a cherished part of my routine. Unwinding with a good movie, Netflix is a sure recommendation.

Netflix not only provides entertainment, but it also helps us navigate different cultures, ideas, and stories from all around the world, the vast library of content that is available assures me that there is always something new to watch, arousing my curiosity and interest, from dramas that grips one to comedies and sci-fi thrillers. Netflix claims a significant portion of my screen time.

🔷️ How do I balance this?

Looking at the 10 hours and 7 minutes of daily screen time, it might seem excessive but it reflects the digital technology being integrated into every aspect of my life. Screens are necessary tools when it comes to working, staying connected or unwinding/relaxing. However, this usage which is of a higher level serves as a reminder for me to understand how important it is to strike a balance.

It means knowing when to take breaks, engaging in physical activities outside the screen and to have face to face interactions with people as these are necessary to maintain overall well-being. The strategies for digital wellness include setting screen time limits and focusing on the usage of digital in a more intentional way as this also helps to manage time effectively.

In conclusion, even though screen time is a testament to the digital age we live in, it is important to remain mindful of how we spend our time on screens, although the benefits and convenience they provide are undeniable. So, it should be a goal to balance screen time with other activities, ensuring that while we embrace the digital world, we also should stay connected to the physical one.

🔷️ LEO POWER UP DAY (LPUD)

Another time to power up some Leo tokens. Lpud is an opportunity to increase one's stake in the Inleo community and it is done on the 15th of every month. This doesn't mean one has to wait till this time to power up, this can be done anytime, but this initiative is another way to encourage users to power up and win some prizes. The prizes include Leo delegation to the winners for a while and another is a premium subscription for 30 days.

The benefit of the delegation is to earn more curation rewards when you curate posts through the Inleo frontend while given a premium subscription comes with amazing benefits especially that of guaranteed upvotes once you use the Inleo frontend.

On this day, I powered up 189 Leo tokens, increasing my Leo Power from 6761 to 6950.

Thanks for your time reading. Looking forward to your interaction.

One more thing I love about Chrome browser is that I can easily share web pages between my PC and phone, and it comes really handy some times.

What series are you watching now? And I love that photo of your work station.

Yes, you are right. I love that I can share web pages between my phone and Pc. This is why I miss my PC so much. Some letters on my keyboard aren't functioning again and it's a new keyboard I changed for #30k two years ago. I was told to go for a wireless keyboard, do you think it's okay?

I don't watch series like that except they aren't much. I stick to a movie I can watch once and I am onto another one. Mostly, horror and bollywood.
