RE: HIVE Could Use A Reader Focused News Website | Implementation Ideas Included

I think in the end this touches on a sensitive subject for the HIVE ecosystem: ad revenues.
In the end the content creators on the platform are small time content creators compared to the big ones on other platforms, and noe nof the big ones are going to move to HIVE, a platform without ad revenues and with very little overlap between their existing followers and the stake holders on the platform.
Want more content consumers, get in the big content creators. Want the big content creators, get some kind of cross-frontend opt-in advertising set up on HIVE. I tried to make a start at something like that back in '19 but it got muched up between all of the drama from that time, and when HIVE happened, both the domain and the token name (that got stranded on the STEEM side of hiveengine anyway) just werent a match for anything anymore.
There are many in the community with strong feelings against any kind of advertising on HIVE, and I'm absolutely not going to restart anything myself, but I'm available for insights if anyone wants to start something.
Great to hear your feedback! There are some very opinionated people on HIVE that is against many things that could benefit HIVE. Solo projects have very little chance of getting noticed unless you are already well known and well capitalized.
I'm both sad and happy to hear there was a plan to implement an ad supported front end. You were years ahead of me. On the other hand, it sucks to hear it going nowhere. The best way to make a news front end work is by collaborating with an existing team and making sure the project can be sustainable without DHF or other donations.
Ask around on Discord to see if any developers are interested in trying this out. There are few projects with an existing Token. Alternatively we can reward content creators with HIVE. You have more credibility than I do. There must be at least a few who would take this idea seriously.
