We attribute rashes to infants more because they can easily get cradle cap or diaper rash. There are different types of skin rashes, let's go through some of them quickly;

Eczema is also known as atopic dermatitis, it develops during infancy and gets better as the child ages, it is most likely a genetic condition, and those with allergies or asthmatic conditions will most likely experience eczema.

Contact dermatitis is a skin condition that happens when the body reacts to a substance that it does not like. So many people for instance are allergic to certain fragrances, or household cleaners.

Skin rashes could also indicate the presence of a viral skin condition like measles, chickenpox, and molluscum contagiosum. Psoriasis is a lifelong skin disorder that comes with a scaly, thick rash, usually forming around the lower back, knees, scalp, and the genitals, it is likewise an inherited condition.

The presentation of rashes differs based on skin tone, those with a lighter skin tone will notice a red, purple, or pink rash while people with a darker skin tone will notice a white, gray, or darker rash around the affected region. Most cases of rashes are mild and can easily be treated with an over-the-counter medication, but with time, it can indicate the presence of a more serious medical condition like a disease, allergic reaction, or infection.

These signs are to be watched out for when there are rashes and reported to a medical clinic as soon as possible. A fever coming alongside a rash may indicate the sign of an allergic reaction or several types of infection like; measles, herpes, scarlet fever, or mononucleosis. When a rash gets infected it gets swollen, painful, crusty, and oozes out pus.

You should instantly seek medical help when rashes begins to spread, it could be n indication of allergic reaction or rashes, it can indicate as well a medical emergency such as anaphylaxis. Rashes shouldn't be painful, when they do, it is often an indication of a medical condition like shingles, it usually affects just one side of the chest, stomach, and back.

A sudden rash may be a reaction to a medication, so if a rash occurs the first week after you start taking a medication, quickly report it to your doctor. Sometimes, when a rash is exposed to sun it could begin to blister, but other times, it can be an indication of a condition that requires medical treatment, sometimes an autoimmune condition like pemphigus vulgaris may be the case.
With rashes infection, crusting, swelling, pain, an awful smell, warmth, and yellow or green discharge will be felt.

It may take several weeks before rashes go away even with treatment, and the nature of treatment varies just like the causes. Allergy medications can be administered in case of an allergy, and anti-inflammatory creams and immunosuppressants are given if the rash is due to eczema or a response to an immune system reaction.

Chances of developing skin rashes can be reduced if you do not share personal belongings or cloth with people, wash your hands immediately you come in contact with an irritant or allergen, or try to avoid them, the chances of getting rashes can also be reduced if you use a mild, fragrance-free, cleansers and moisturizers.
