Life Now or before

For the past few weeks, I’ve literally been feeling pity for the Gemini app, notwithstanding the fact that it’s a bot. Why is this so? Ever since my mom discovered that it could modify images for her, it’s been a series of transformation from picture to picture. Since discovering it, she no longer has to ask me to help edit an old picture of hers, and wait for some days before getting it edited it her taste. Now, she explains what she wants to the AI, and it returns it.

One topic everyone can relate to, rich or poor, continent away from continent, is the topic of technology. We’ve all seen it, utilized it in so many ways. The evolution of firewood, to the use of gas cookers, is one of those technological innovations we all relate to. There were times where people had to go hunting for dry wood, coming back to set them in a position that ensures heat goes round, and then sitting to fan the flames so it circulates. A process that is as stressful as it is unhealthy. Now with a simple flick of a matchstick, or a turn of a knob, answers all you need to know.

So many little things have been integrated into our lives, that we can no longer imagine life without them. From phones, to the use of generators, these are all things we’ve come to accept. Now, almost everything could be accessed online. For instance, my mom no longer needs a professional to help her edit her work. All she has to do is explain herself to the AI. With this, she saves, time, stress and money. All these are aspects of life that have changed so much, thanks to the advent of technology.

As much as many aspects of our lives have become easier, we can’t seem to deny how complicated so many things now are. For instance, there’s the fact that teachers are now very skeptical when marking student assignments, due to the use of AI. Many of them go as far as taking steps to detect AI, before the actual marking takes place. The evolvement of technology, is breeding less trust among many humans. Making people have to work twice, to achieve a certain result. Some people even go as far as flagging hard earned works as AI, because the world now sees AI as the only thing capable of producing next to perfect results.

Everything that has a good side to it, will always have its bad side which is why caution should be employed in the world of today. No matter how eager we are in wanting to make life easier, we should also take measures to not lose the value of life in the process. For I believe, for life to go smoothly, everything should be in balance, be done moderately.
