All you missed were headaches and crashes! I don't think I ever saw a machine with Vista or ME that had more than 5 hours of straight uptime.

Well, I had ME as my first computer, and I can confirm having 5 hours of straight uptime wasn't that uncommon, but it did have tendency to crash for no reason.
That's why I felt XP was amazing in comparison.
