Sacrificial lamb for the world good or bad?

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Every day you hear and see stories about ongoing research and how much has been allocated to that particular research. The amount of money allocated to the research or project will always leave you in shock, but the question about all of these is, are all these projects or research and the money allocated to them really worth it? Should the money allocated to these research projects be allocated to something else? There are many people who are not into science, and for that reason feel like money allocated to science research should be allocated to something else, probably helping humanity.

The truth is that every exploration and research is quite important to humanity, many of these explorations is actually the reason we have come this far. Everything we have access to today is as a result of a research that was done in the past which makes the money allocation and the research quite worth it because if these researched were not conducted then we will not have access to all the things that we have today. The medications and cure for so many disease were only made possible because of one research or the other that was conducted in the past, now what if these researches were not conducted or the money allocated to them were not enough to see the research through then we will not have all we have today.

As much as many research carried out in the past were worth it in the end, there are still some research that are not worth it, like research on the exploration of other planets when it has been clearly stated that the only planet that has life and can allow inhabitation is Earth. Why and what are we exploring other planets for? Scientists are always curious, but I feel every curiosity should be channeled towards research and projects that focus on making life better and more enjoyable for all of us.

We have lost many lives to the cold hands of death as a result of one disease or illness or another, which has made finding cures for these illnesses very necessary, but all efforts to find cures for certain illnesses, such as cancer, have proven futile, and families continue to lose loved ones. Cancer is one of those sicknesses that feels like a death sentence; once diagnosed with it, the fear and anxiety that surround the diagnosis even cut the life of the person short because from the time of diagnosis, one's life is already timed.

Many families have lost loved ones, and it is all because of cancer. If, in any case, I have a cure to this particular disease flowing through my veins or traces of a cure in my system, will I offer myself to be researched to get the cure so more people will not lose their lives? It might actually be a difficult choice to make, but based on how much pain this particular disease has caused people, if researching me will stop the pain, then I will offer myself to be researched.

Cancer is one of the diseases that has claimed more lives than we can actually count, and putting its death spree to a stop will be a win for humanity.
