My Favorite Jesus Story. Unload. Unburden. Shattered Beliefs (audio: noxsoma.substack.com)
Full Metal Thorsday. Welcome to one more day above ground. Here are some views from the Simulatrix.

One of my favorite Jesus stories has to do with Jesus traveling from point A to point B. At the outset of his journey, Jesus is lavishly outfitted with items that are meant to make his journey as comfortable as possible. However, along the way, he encounters individuals adjacent to his path who are making due with less than he has. He thinks, “If that fellow can do without, then so can I.” Consequently, he discards item after item until. That’s the question, isn’t it. Until when?
Until all that’s left is a soiled loin cloth and begging bowl?
Two years ago already, during Apocalypse Year, we produced a series called, “Shattered Beliefs.” The Trinity surmised that we had been carrying a caravan of beliefs that were actually burdening the consciousness and hindering our development. Perhaps we tricked Mind into believing that these beliefs were not of significant weight to retard our progress. They were just “fun ideas” to keep around. “Astrology,” comes to mind. Without getting too deep into it, there are many layers of what humans mean by “astrology.” “Astro” means “stars” and refers to those heavenly bodies in space. The suffix means, “the study of,” thus “astrology” is the study of the stars. What does this mean? The movements, alignments, and locations, thereof, relative to each other? Or, the affect those luminaries have on this planet and its inhabitants? Or, predicting the future of individuals according to the position of planets and stars at their birth?
What’s the difference between “believing in” something, and simply believing it exists, or happened? There’s a step that’s taken. A line that’s crossed. For example, your humble vagabond believes that the All is the All. Or, in other words, that Everything is Everything. Okay, that’s not too difficult. We, the Trinity, also believe that Universe is, “in control” (as a manner of speaking), yet at the same time, is not controlling. (“Controlling, being an adjective, rather than a verb. Have I lost you?)
While I don’t believe that Universe is looking out for “lil ole Me,” I do believe that it flows the way that it flows, perfectly and flawlessly, and that this vessel is a part of that flow. This doesn’t mean that I can depend on winning lotteries and sweepstakes to remain fed and sheltered. Universe looks out, but each of us must do our part to ascend, so to speak. And in some cases, simply to survive.
Anyway, faith in daily horoscopes and astrological relationship advice, was a tough burden to release. Nonetheless, when I think back to some of the most satisfying, disappointing, or even passionate relationships, certain Sun Signs stand out.
Germ Theory was another heavy burden we carried. Imagine the caravan scenario and your pack included items that you knew nothing about, yet accepted because everyone else lugged the same items throughout their journey. Imagine your boss telling you that if you did not carry this item for the duration of the journey, you would surely die.
This was, “germ theory.” “Contagion.” Why we get sick. The common cold. Influenza. Chicken pox, and the Immune System.
If not for the Covid op, your boy would likely still be carrying this metaphorical load. We dumped this during Apocalypse Year as well. Our “magnum opus” (video), on how we finally came to terms with this illusion is posted. It’s long. It might seem convoluted, and it was recorded outside, so it might be a tough experience. But if you want to check it out, hit me up, I’ll share the link.
The most recent discard was a jaw-dropper. It had to do with the measurement of time. This still perplexes me. Unless you are well over a hundred years young, you’ve only experienced one Century Year. 2000. It was a Leap Year, as it should be. Because every four years is a Leap Year. Except, when it’s a Century Year not divisible by 400! 1900 was not a Leap Year. 2100 will not be a Leap Year. I was arguing with the Chat-bot as it was patiently and unhumanly explaining and re-explaining why 2100 was not going to be a Leap Year.
I had but one, Century Year experience, and it was a Leap Year. Okay. So, I had to know why this is the case. There’s a 10-11 minute drift in Earth’s annual orbit around the sun that must be corrected every 400 years.
This apocalypse shattered my belief, naive as it might have been, in the precision of time. Because, time, is based on the precision of numbers. Here’s the disconnect. Numbers are precise, always and every time. Even pi, as infinite as it is, is infinite in the same way, every single time. It’s not going to be 3.1415927 today, and then 3.1415937 tomorrow. It may never end. But it also never changes.
The Fibonacci sequence is the same. Spirals appear in nature, but they don’t follow the Fibonacci math. Nature follows its own flow. It’s free and unrestricted by math.
So when the circle, the zodiac, is applied to the cosmos, it becomes the menu that describes the meal, and not the meal itself. Maybe a touch more salt, a quantum of oregano, the cook had a spat with her mate, and the meal comes out a little bit better than the last time, or not.
This was another belief shattered. I used math to describe the planets, the moon, the passing of time, and the magic of numbers. Numbers still have their magic. But the magic is performed in a closed system. Ask two random men to walk 13 paces, (no peeking). For myriad undetectable reasons they will not end up in the same parallel location.
The load is lighter, but I still miss some of my fantastic mythology, especially when it comes to sun signs and relationships.
We’re not going full ascetic. At some point, even Jesus, having lightened his load of unnecessary weight and superfluous baggage, trinkets, nick-knacks, and status symbols, would call it a day. “This is what I need, no more, and no less. At least until conditions change.”
