Las radiografías en odontología nos permiten un mejor diagnóstico para garantizar a nuestro paciente el mejor tratamiento, nos permiten determinar y conocer aquellas patologías, caries qué a simple vista mediante el examen clínico no podemos observar, las radiografías son requisitos indispensables que debe tener todo paciente es vital que para cualquier consulta llevar la radiografía, cómo profesionales de la odontología siempre debemos abrir una historia clínica con la misma, si no se cuenta con el control radiográfico no se puede realizar el examen radiográfico, por ello que mediante este post les vengo hablar acerca de la radiografia coronoria y su gran importancia.

The radiographs in dentistry allow us a better diagnosis to guarantee our patient the best treatment, they allow us to determine and know those pathologies, caries which at first sight by means of the clinical examination we cannot observe, the radiographs are indispensable requirements that every patient must have, it is vital that for any consultation to take the radiography, how professionals of the dentistry always we must open a clinical history with the same one, if it is not counted with the radiographic control the radiographic examination cannot be realized, for it that by means of this post I come to speak about the coronary radiography and its great importance.

Las radiografías coronales normalmente tienen aleta de mordida, son radiografías que tienen su gran uso para diagnosticar caries interproximales, es decir entre el espacio de diente y diente que no son visibles para el odontólogo mediante la consulta, nos permite observar esas caries para poder tratarlas, estas caries son conocidas como clases II, son radiografías intraorales es decir que nos permiten visualizar todas las estructuras radiograficamente que están dentro de la cavidad bucal.

Coronal radiographs normally have a bitewing, they are radiographs that are widely used to diagnose interproximal caries, i.e. between the tooth and tooth space that are not visible to the dentist during the consultation, allowing us to observe these caries in order to treat them. These caries are known as class II, they are intraoral radiographs, i.e. they allow us to visualise all the structures that are inside the oral cavity radiographically.

Cuando se toma esta radiografía debido a sus diversos ángulos, se evita que tenga sobreposición garantizando así una buena calidad o resolución de la imagen, esto hace que de manera más temprana se puedan detectar las caries en una fase inicial, ya que esto garantiza para el paciente un mejor pronóstico por lo que esto es la principal indicación de la radiografía coronarias. Estas radiografías normalmente se indican derecha e izquierda que incluye ambas arcadas superiores e inferiores.

When this x-ray is taken, due to its different angles, it avoids overlapping, thus guaranteeing a good quality or resolution of the image. This makes it possible to detect caries at an earlier stage, as this guarantees a better prognosis for the patient, which is why this is the main indication for coronary x-rays. These radiographs are usually indicated right and left which includes both upper and lower arches.

Las radiografías coronales también nos permite observar esas estructuras de soporte en el diente como lo es la cresta alveolar, se puede evidenciar la altura de esta así como también las tablas oseas, determinando un primer inicio de la enfermedad periodontal por lo que se tendrá como un primer signo el desgaste de la cortical, por lo que puede tener esta segunda indicación.

Coronal radiographs also allow us to observe the supporting structures of the tooth, such as the alveolar ridge, the height of which can be seen, as well as the bone tables, determining the first onset of periodontal disease, which is why cortical wear is the first sign, which is why it can have this second indication.

Por último las radiografías coronales son muy comunes en el área de odontopediatría, en mi facultad los docentes de las guardias clínicas de niños para la historia clínica nos piden como requisito obligatorio tomar radiografías coronales derecha e izquierda a nuestros niños facilitando así un buen diagnóstico y la detección de la enfermedad de caries dental, espero esta publicación haya sido de tu interés.

Finally, coronal radiographs are very common in the area of paediatric dentistry, in my faculty the teachers of the clinical ward of children for the clinical history ask us as a mandatory requirement to take right and left coronal radiographs to our children thus facilitating a good diagnosis and detection of dental caries disease, I hope this publication has been of interest to you.
