Kew is fantastic, we went in 2022 last time, must have been August for my wife’s birthday and we had afternoon tea there. The weather was glorious, it was extremely hot and can remember the afternoon tea being actually tea in polystyrene cups and a pack of scones. Not their fault, they were still recovering from Covid’s issues. A lot of places had a bit of a struggle during those times to afford the running costs without the visitors coming through. It also meant that the treetop walks were still closed etc.
Had a great time and your post has reminded me that we wanted to go back.

The weather was not exactly glorious, but it was nice enough to be out. You just needed an extra layer.
We picked the right week as some of the attractions were in their last week (e.g. the sculptures). We may go back in the spring.
