Kill or Be Killed: Who’s Dying?
Gone were the days when we had to sit on top of trees just to make calls. Today, thanks to the advancement of technology, we no longer see that except in my village.😅
Everyone wants to live an easy life and that’s okay. As humans, we have so much potential in us and we are able to achieve anything we put our minds to. How do you think we were able to evolve from the Stone Age to the much better world we are living in today.
Today, for must of us it’s ‘ there’s no life without technology’. That’s how much we have grown to become addicted to technology. Back in 2006, I remember my mom using an earthenware bowl to grind her tomatoes. We even used to drink porridge from callabash. Now, my mom doesn’t even know where her earthenware bowl is because she has a blender.<just kidding😅>
Technology has gradually grown to become the bedrock of our lives today. Actually, I’m not totally against it buts let’s not forget that technology is our friend and also our worst enemy. The issue of how human jobs will soon be replaced by robots and AI has been a topic for discussion for so long. Yet we still go on to produce more robots and even stronger AI. So, my question now is, aren’t we our own enemies? It’s like digging a grave and burying yourself in it.
One thing I am very sure about in my life is that fact that no AI or robot can take your job from you. Robots and AIs were developed by us humans and so they are programmed to do whatever we want them to do with the information we feed them. I know they say there’s so much information on the internet today but trust me when I tell you it’s not every information you find on the internet.
Think about the use of robots in healthcare. Imagine a robot being programmed strictly to perform a particular surgery . In a situation where something goes wrong or things escalate what would the robot do? It hasn’t been programmed to deal with that new development so imagine what is going to happen to our poor patient.
Being a teacher, I understand how stressful it can be to deal with kids and I would be so happy to have a robot take my place but a robot can’t do my job as I want it to be done. All the robot can do is to do what I say, in the sense that it’s only going to give out what I give it to my students. In teaching, everything counts. Your facial expressions, how you interact with your students , the discussions, the jokes and all of that. There’s no way any robot can have that kind of human connection with human beings.
We are unique as humans and that’s a fact. Even though there’s so much potential in technology, there’s also so much it lacks. The question we should be asking ourselves in these time and going forward is, how do I stand out amidst all these developments? How am I different from others or even these robots? What skills and qualifications do I posses that no Ai and robot has? What can I do differently?
It’s kill or be killed. So,how are you going to survive today and in the days to come. That’s up to you. Stand out!
all images belong to me.
Robots are only programmed by predetermined responses, meaning it is what we tell them to do they do. They cannot do the job as we would. Technology makes things easier but not to some extent as it has its own limitations.
That’s very true. But as you know, we humans will keep developing technology until they kingdom come.
I just had a robot put a new knee in me a couple months ago. It does about 25 knee replacements a week and has a perfect success rate.
That’s nice to hear. Once it’s programmed to do the right thing, that’s good.
I wouldn't wanna go back to it for physical therapy or anything, check-ups, et cetera I doubt it's much for conversation.
Haha, you could give it a try though.

You sat on trees, mango or Palm trees
Just kidding.
Technology has dominated the life of man, and has made life really easy for us.
Imaging travelling from Nigeria to Ghana with a horse
Your ass will lose alignment
The world is really making progress
We sat on mango trees.😂
How can I sit on a horse for that long. Can never be me.😂

Robots and AI can actually replace humans in certain jobs right now, they are already doing that in some farms in Europe and Asia, where robots equipped with AI can pick ripe fruits from trees (they can perfectly differentiate ripe from unripe). The problem with robots and AI is not that they will totally replace humans at their jobs, but it's that they reduce the number of people needed for a job.
If before now a farmer needs 50 workers on his farm, he can now employ just 10 humans and replace the rest with robots. The 10 humans are there to supervise and assist the robots, and the farmer won't even need to have 40 robots, just 5 can do the work of 40 humans. There are things low-key going on in the robotics and AI industry, and it's actually scary when you think about what the next 20 years will look like
The world is constantly developing new mechanisms and things to make life easier. Looking forward to what next would be our worry in the future aside Ai and robots.
If robots should start performing surgery, that means a whole lot of people will start dying like fowls, and if there should be some complications, I doubt if a robot can deal with it cus it's already programmed.
I agree with you. But who knows, things might change soon .
