From Freshman to Graduate: Stepping into the Future

From 7am classes to no more classes. From missing classes to wanting to go to class. From burning the midnight candle to sleeping peacefully.Whew! Who would have thought our journey would come to an end this fast.

I remember when we all first came to the university. I could see how most of us hated this school cos everything was stressful here. I bet some of us imagined having a great school experience but we were in for a surprise. First year was going well until Covid hit us. I mean we were all happy and sad at the same time. Happy to go home away from this school and sad about the pandemic.

Most of us hated those joint classes in level 100 but when we came back after COVID we were more than happy to not take classes with other courses. Through our four years in the university we have had our ups and downs, lost friends on the way, made new friends and lived the university life we all envisioned.

We started as class of 83 students and we ended as a class of 83 students + 1 baby student.😅 Most of us didn’t initially plan to come to this university but we plan and God plans, and he is the best planner. That’s how we all landed here. The journey hasn’t been an easy one. From being complete strangers to building bonds and coexisting as one family.

We had our good days and bad days. There were days we didn’t even want to go to class but we had to encourage ourselves because we know we came for a reason. I remember those days when we would walk to class through the rain only for the class to be canceled after we settled down so we had to walk back to our various residences in the rain.

Some people say it’s hard to make friends when you’re old but then meeting each other has been the best thing that has ever happened to any of us. I mean we have all the characters you need in the class. The bookworms, the best friend, that one couple that makes everyone jealous, the hardworking course reps, the footballers, the talkatives, you name it.

This last semester has really been though for us all, from being frustrated about your project to having a million slides to read. I mean we didn’t think we could even write our final exams but God saw us through. At the end of the day, all thanks goes to God for bringing us this far as a family. Reading a course in Biochemistry isn’t as easy as it looks. Now, on to the next chapter of our lives!
Congratulations to us all for making it this far!🥳🎊🎉
