Do Students Ever Change? A Teachers diary
At this point I can’t even feel my legs again because I’ve been standing since 7am and it’s 5pm now. I never would have imagined that dealing with students would be this difficult. Truth is, Mondays are very busy days for us at work because our classes start at 7am and end at 5pm with some of my classes even clashing, how can I be in two places at the same time.
Today has be the most stressful day I’ve had in the past few weeks because tell me why my work mates decided to leave everything to me. Last Friday we all joked about how I was going to take all the classes for today and I thought it was a joke only for me to come and have them tell me ‘your students are waiting for you’😂
Everyone hates Mondays and my students are no exception. I’m sure they probably hate me for asking them to come at class at 7am on a Monday. As at 8:00am these students were still not ready and even those that were present we busy writing their lab assignments. I knew it wasn’t easy being a student but God knows these students are lazy. They had the whole weekend yet they just decided to come to class on a Monday morning to write their assignments during my period. Not under my watch.😂As soon as I saw what was going on I gave them a strict warning that if I saw anyone with a pharmacognosy lab book I was going to seize it and sack them from my class. That was when I got their attention.
You know how it feels when you teach students and you later ask them questions about what you taught and they stare at your face like that was their first time hearing it or you were a ghost. I’m starting to believe these students do it intentionally because some of them will know the answer but they will never speak.
I always feel sad when I see my colleagues punishing the students I would always talk to them to go easy on the students. All they tell me is that students only study when you’re hard on them. Today, I finally came to understand them. Some of these students would disgrace you if care is not taken.😂 Imagine taking your time to teach students something for over two hours only for you to ask them for a summary a week later and they’re found wanting. I know I was a terrible student at some point in my life but not to this extent.
It’s days like this that make me realize why I don’t want to be a teacher. As for my boss @abu78 , he’s doing a good job with these his students cos as for me I just can’t.😂 I just hope one day I don’t blow up on them because it seems they think I can’t get mad at them because I’m always smiling. Sigh.

I never talked with my teacher about those things and didn’t know what teachers felt like never been on hehe. Looks like it’s a tough job.
Teaching has got to he the toughest job ever, honestly
Sorry for the stress
Some students knows the answer and won't want to speak up. maybe it's because of low self-esteem or lack of confidence.
You have to help them build up
Proudly a teacher
When these students see me outside they are able to call me and even talk but when it comes to answering questions they don’t talk. God knows they’re not shy.

As a bad student myself, I don’t see what your problem is. Your own is to teach us the thing and we move. Why would you come and ask me a week later? Where is the trust?😂😂
Anytime I come on here after a long time, you make me feel my excuses are not valid. Cause I get to sit all day and don’t necessarily have to talk and then get home and even refuse to make a phone call or reply a text with the excuse that I’m tired😂. I just go straight to bed
