Cultivating Wellness: My Daily Journey to a Healthier Me
Over the years, I’ve transitioned myself to pay more and more attention to my general well being on the daily basis. Before, I wouldn’t say I engaged in many activities which I do engage in today. Maybe the reason I didn’t do those then was because I didn’t think they were as important and I know they are now.
General well being is key to living a happy life in todays world if you ask me. As the twi adage says, ‘atanfo benya wo a na 3firi wontomamu’ which means if your enemy will get you then it’s from your own cloth. You never know what you’re missing out on until you lose your health.
Personally, there are a lot of things I do on the daily basis to ensure I’m in good health. First of all, if you know me, you know I’m an exercise freak. I love to work out all the time because it helps me a lot. It helps me keep fit, clear my head and also have fun.
Also, another thing I make sure to always do is keep hydrated. Water they say is life and once you get dehydrated, you know doom is near. Dehydration can lead to so many conditions including death and I’m sure none of us wants to end up dead because we forgot to drink water. Water makes you healthy and fresh all the time and so I make sure to always take in a lot of water at all times.
The next thing I do in my daily schedule to be in shape is to eat a healthy and balanced diet. The food we take in is very important and it should be void of any sort of contamination whatsoever. One thing about my diet is that I make sure it’s balanced all the time and I also incorporate fruits and vegetables into it. This way, I’m able to get all required nutrients I need on the daily basis in their right proportions.
If your day is going to be good , it has to start from a good routine.
All images belong to me.
Hey, you are not going to die taking less water, unless your in desert(:... that was a exageration.
Yesss... you know you always try to be positive, I have read, you reflect, make goals, and are very aware of things. And like your early 20's so, nice start! Not that you can't start before.
I have suggestions... its very hard to cook meals daily and eat): if you are busy and all... but I do it, I can cook just one meal, and I put all veggies in it! ... greens ! and once a week, mint and spinach...
thesedays don't get fruits because well, its costly, buying veggies alone but yes some bananas are good and fruits are delicious too...so you spend on it once a while nothing like it.
But when cooking, please see you dip those veggies, mostly the uncovered one, leaves and chillis in salt water for 30 minutes. Because all our raw materials have pesticide.
Avoide adding spices in market that are not natural if possible, because your country has curruption like mine and all the chilli powder, and cariader powder, even termeric powder have some poison , contamination!
And...this is important ... use pure oil, not cooking oil they sell in market, its bad for health.
Now your young, but when you live with old parents, taking care of diet is important!
You making me what to eat fruits - grapes, oranges, water melon, mangoes... they are costly but to tell you the truth I waste money once a while ordering junk food outside.
I turned 40, but for now, my weight's perfect and I can eat anything...
Ohh... also have balanced diet. I had lots of chutney powder and it caused tummy problems at night which had me fall and bleed beggining this month.
Women also get menstruration, and eating veggies then and light without spice is good to avoid cramps. Exercise also mitigates cramps.
Keep healthy. If you don't make time for this, you will suffer just like I had... I had B12 deficiency, D deficiency and other problems for long time in my 30's.
Control stress and pump up positivity with some affirmations, it helps a lot.
Nowadays, when I sit to work, I am damn clear whatever personal nonsence dramas and issues I have in life because I love writing, reading and learning and stuff... and doing physical work, exercise, meditation helps... and all those affirmation, goals as well... keep reviewing... and don't forget to relive you good movements, have gratitute, think of the things things that happened.
And wear happiness hat when your mood is out. All you need to do, is box your hands upwards, turn up and say 'Yessss", your saying yes to happiness(:
It helps me... and you get nice mood to work.
