Adventures in Dreamland

Sleep takes away all of our problems, it’s only when you wake up that you find yourself in the real world, obviously. But we can’t sleep forever. I know people who go to sleep just escape their reality but sleep is not death. I’d choose my sleep over anything else, unless it’s not urgent. I’ve planned to go out with people and when the d-day comes, I wouldn’t make it because I was sleeping. Can’t really blame me I guess.😄

Every normal human being should sleep for at least 7 to 8 hours a day but most of us don’t fall into the normal human being category.😄 People are out there running around on two to three hours of sleep. Some of us even try to catch a nap with any free time we get during the day. As they say, you can’t cheat nature. No matter how hard you try to stay awake after a very short night, you almost always find yourself dozing off at some point in the day.

Everyone has dreams but not everyone dreams and that’s okay.😂 Some months ago, I treated the sleep cycle with my students and so I now know much more on how dreams come to us. We have about 4 stages of sleep with 4 to 6 cycles per night. So, you start from the first stage to the fourth stage and process starts all over again. You realize that at some point in the night you tend to wake up, or even feel conscious of your environment. At other times also you don’t even know what goes on. That’s all part of the sleep cycle.

I’ve heard so may people say that one is likely to dream about the last thing they think about. But why do I always think about money before sleeping yet I don’t dream of money.😅 I’m not a very deep sleeper even though sometimes I can be. For someone who doesn’t have enough time to sleep, how can I even dream.😂 Imagine sleeping and having a lucid dream, this happens to me very often which makes me sleep deprived. In such situations, I always try to get to work early to nap before the others come in.

Personally, I think some dreams have meaning depending on the individual. Not everyone gets to dream. For some people, their dreams come true while others don’t have it that way. I’d like to believe that it varies from person to person. I’ve heard people talk about how others dreamt about something that was yet to happen in their lives and it actually did. But then, some dreams also happen as deja vu. The whole concept of sleep and dreaming is really fascinating. I don’t think we can fully comprehend how dreams work but then I think not all dreams should be taken for granted.

When you dream, dream of a bigger and better life.😄

My dreams are wild and I know it’s because of my imaginations

Everyone’s problems end when they sleep but that’s when mine begins. My dreams are terribly terrifying, Nhaji

Where are you people seeing 7/8 hours of sleep?? Two or three hours, I wake... Unless, of course, I feel really fatigued.

As for dreams, nah, I only remember them when I am on sedative drugs. And that's when I get mumu mumu dreams that don't add up.

Some of us don’t even sleep.😂

That’s how someone will just slap you in your sleep. 😂

I can sleep well without dreams, its when I dream I don't have that nice restful sleep and its happening at times.

Generally, if your very tired and content, atleast for me, I sleep dreamless and well.

I guess we all have anxiety, fears and insecurities and also some diety thoughts all can form a distasteful movie in dreams.

I noticed dreams don't have reality... like it has its own sense kind. Things that are not possible happen and we believe it... its sub consious mind.

Its what your mind has deep inside that plays and revealed... but its diffirent not the same as we are in waking.

I dreamed of roach... its whiskers shifting as kid.

ON other hand, dreams give indepth details, that waking mind don't picture.

But all in all... I prefer dreamless dreams. I did recently get some dream related to politics because at night I see youtube of content creators talking about political dramas, generally its facinating.

Anyway, dreams are very deep, I think its what our sub conssious thinks and understands, and generally we are disconnected with this subconsience part of ourselves.

I am trying to connect though by writing at night, things to do next day. Back of the mind it keeps busy looking forward for doing those things I think, because when I write or research for writing after a while feels good. Before that, I am like I don't want to work, no energy... it all goes away and enter focus!

Dreams can reveal a lot about your hidden thoughts so its good to take it seriously, in the respect and if you have uncomfortable dream it could mean we have to address our thought we put into our minds.

My cats sleep well though, I don't think they have bad orr uncomfortable dreams although once my white cat was screaming in sleep. But its damn rare!

Haha, your car had a nightmare a guess.

I agree with you when you say dreams expose what is hidden in your thoughts. Especially the stuff we think of but won’t voice out.

But everyone prefers an goodnight sleep!😅
