A Day of Showcasing the Skills and Talents of Our 21st Learners

In providing an application of the lessons learned, our school the Ilihan Integrated School, conducted school activities that will hone the skills, the talents and sharpen the knowledge of the students. These activities developed teamwork and leadership of the learners which is beneficial for their growth and will give them the chance to discover their field of excellence.

Our school conducted the culmination day for Science and Math celebration. This is valuable to them as they will be given the privilege to develop their critical thinking skills in the different activities given.

All of the students were gathered at our school's mini-gymnasium during the culmination. This was the day that they were receiving their awards, and the moment to present their well-prepared Math Sayaw (dance with mathematical symbols to be executed) and their Science Investigatory Project (SIP).

We have imported judges to have a fair judgment. The competition started right after the opening prayer, the singing of the National Anthem, and the welcome address of our principal.

The Math Sayaw was participated by each grade level from junior to senior high school. It is in this dance where their creativity in incorporating the different symbols in math will be visualized through their presentations. It is one of the ways of internalizing mathematics which is done uniquely and fanatically.

The eagerness and excitement overflowed that they could showcase their talents to the crowd. The presentations were attention-grabbing and all of them received applause from the different corners of the gymnasium.

In attaining a deeper understanding of the different principles in science, they indulged themselves in SIP. A hands-on approach where the mechanical method was used. It is beneficial to 21st-century learners as they are given the privilege to explore the world of science using their critical way of thinking.

For a more challenging approach, they were required to present their project in front of the judges. They have to defend properly and why it is beneficial compared to others. In this way, their communication skill was enhanced and honed their abilities which was a great preparatory for their professional growth.

I'm absolutely amazed at how our students revealed their one-of-a-kind skills in the preparation of their SIP. Most of them were recycling the waste materials which is substantial for the sustainability of our environment. I couldn't believe they could come up with these different incredible inventions.

The competition doesn't stop here. It continues and keeps on motivating the students to do good in the field of academics. They were encouraged to strive better for a good accomplishment and excellence in their studies.

It was in this culmination that learners were able to feel the intense competition amongst their peers. They were able to set an essential goal which is a great factor in attaining a successful life in the future.

Great job to this set of students who have amazing abilities and are our future engineers or scientists in this world surrounded by inventions. We as teachers, are glad to look at them hitting the mark and were triumphant in their way.
