Technology has made my life easy

While I am not much of a tech savvy and I avoid also having too many gadgets, but still certain things are very useful and it's good to get them. My recent house work which is being done in Mumbai, I have no physical access to it. I can go there only once in 3 months and rest of the time it is all left on the contractors who are working on my project. I was very nervous when the work started because I was not sure how I would be able to keep a track of the work remotely. And dealing with labor that too remotely is always a big challenge. There are so many things to it like the security of the material that is bought, the work that is being carried out is it being done properly or not, how many people are coming to work daily and tallying it with the charges being taken from us. All of it cannot be done without personal supervision.

A friend of mine suggested that we should get cameras installed at the site and then we can keep a track of the work going on from anywhere. Honestly, I had no idea that such a thing could happen. I know that I can remotely access the views, but I was not aware that I could do that sitting in another country also. I thought it would be within a certain area only that I can check. This is really amazing. We got 2 cameras installed at corners and we can keep a track of the work and people now with ease. Later on, hubby was getting little curious about the other 2 sides, if things were happening right at those ends. He got 2 more installed so making it 4 - one at each corner. This gives a 360-degree view of the whole area now.

This not only allows me to keep a track of the work but also feel the joy of my home coming up and can see every stage of it being built. Today they completed all the slab work and now they will proceed to the brick work. It is such a joy to see your home being built from ground zero. Buying a home is very simple, you need not bother about anything. But building it, there are end number of challenges, approvals, paper work and what not. Every day we face some or the other challenge. Since it is in a very remote place when we started there was no electricity and water connection. We had to reach out to the nearby village and make arrangements. There are some other homes also being built in the same area, so all of us worked together towards getting the electricity connection. A lot of basic issues are resolved, but yet some thing or the other always crops up.

We got a borewell drilling done, anticipating that we could get water from the ground, sadly it was not a positive outcome, the level of water was not sufficient. Thankfully at a distance there is a house of a local villager who has a well and he offered to supply us water from there. The next we will have to worry about is the road, because right now there is no proper road. One step at a time. It is all going to take a lot of time, we are getting there slowly, overcoming all the obstacles and getting our home ready. The big relief is the keeping track which is sorted with the CCTV cameras.

My hubby gets super excited, he keeps watching it throughout the day. I tell him that we will not need a security guard, he can very well do that job...hehehe. Yet, I do miss watching it real time.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

This is wonderful! You guys can watch all the process from the comfort of your home, improvising with them when neccesary. They'll also do the work well knowing that there are eyes on them :)
