AI taking over Human Jobs
The Union IT Minister of India says that AI is not yet that sophisticated to take away human jobs at large for the next 5 to 10 years. But that very statement means that after that yes it will take away our jobs at large. It may not be that sophisticated now, but if we keep enhancing the technology it surely will become intelligent and sophisticated to a point that it can take away majority of the jobs, even where human logic and reasoning is required. He mentions that currently it is not a concern but yes in future we have to think of how to generate human jobs.
So, what happens after that. What happens to the future younger generations getting out of the Universities and looking for jobs. Even the service industry is slowly changing. There are restaurants with robot servers, and what once we thought a job that can never be replaced by a robot is being taken over by them. I am not sure why would people want such technologies where they would lose absolute human touch and be driven by machines. I can understand a technical job being taken over by a robot, which is mechanical and task oriented. But jobs where it is more about human connections, we should not even attempt changing those industries.
It makes me think, then what are we humans going to do in the next 50 years, because by then at large all the jobs will be taken over by AI and even to monitor them humans will not be required. We humans forever will be on vacation. Thank God I am born at the right time. Honestly this whole technology thing gives me a creepy feeling. I feel like humans by then will also be as good as robots, considering how technology has started controlling our minds.
Right now these thoughts may feel exaggerated but in the next few years to come all of this is going to become a reality and the way the population on our planet is increasing, it is going to be all possibility that people will end up in distress conditions. The jobs at construction sites may all be gone because machines will take over completely, so what will people at lower ends do. I am just talking about one area, but this automation will happen in every sector, be it service, entertainment, manufacturing, travel or whatever you can think of. I read some time back that a women somewhere created a AI generated boyfriend...hahaha....I could not believe what level people have come to, and what all they can do. Possibly in a few years people will feel that having sex with a robot will be more fulfilling then a human to human connection...hehe.
Possibly I will see a good glimpse of it in my life time, but thankfully it will be in my retirement age and I will not have that big baggage on my shoulder to worry about a job or earning. Yes, no one knows how things will be 15 to 20 years down the line, but for sure there is going to be a big change in the world. Technology and automation will bring in a lot of good also. Possibly we would have been able to explore life by then on some other Planet. Space travel would be something common with all of this advancements and while it freaks me out, it also excites me to see all these possibilities. It is my wish to do a space travel before I die :-)

Good morning :) I think we need to see the future from another angle from something we don't know and to be discovered.
Yes, but in all of that we must not forget the laws of nature and forget that we are humans and we need to maintain that sanity.
True, but there have still jobs that AI cannot control. I believe AI can't replace humans, but people who know AI can. It is just my perspective right now. Anything could change

Yes i also feel that AI will take place human jobs but this we'll show in some next year's. Happy to know that you're near to your retirement And don't worry about job.

Technology is a tool, however if we allow it to control our minds, behaviors and more importantly, our relationships in a negative way, it's on us to educate ourselves and act wiser. I saw a documentary a couple of years ago where young men in China would bond and even marry robots (it must have been a Silicon Valley type of area with lots of people working in IT). Extremely bizarre to say the least.
Truly bizarre things are happening in the world these days, just a few maniacs are creating all this havoc in the world. In the next few decades it is possible that people will get married to robots and have lab grown babies.
