Exploring the World of Digital Marketing: Advantages and Drawbacks
Dearest Readers, my todays’ post is about the advanced system of business, which is introduced as ‘Digital Marketing’. I am personally interested in this advanced style of business, therefore I decided to search and find out how productive and beneficial it is, as well as what are the negative and beating aspects of Digital Marketing. Simply I needed to understand its pros and cons before making my mind to enter the world of Digital Marketing.
The general or common meaning of Digital marketing one needs to understand easily is that it is an advanced style of business where one can start from anywhere, using online facilities to get connected with clients such as; through social media or e-mail, text messages or through a website etc. but the first and foremost necessity is the availability of Internet facility. The availability of internet facility is not a big challenge in the current era, it has already gripped the entire Globe.
Normally, digital marketing is not that difficult as the common approach among the people is that it is tough and problematic, although it is extremely essential to get the primary (first hand) and the advanced knowledge is absolute. As per my understanding the most important and crucial aspect to adopt or enter into the digital marketing world, is the commitment, loyalty and open-mindedness because it keeps on changing its stance and pace therefore, the mind and mentality must be broader as well as alert. There are challenges as well like; technical, analytical and preparation and organization of content etc. but those challenges can be catered if commitment exists.
As far as my research on Digital Marketing is concerned, I have developed the understanding that in the current century, specifically in the last three to four decades, as things are moving towards advancement and progression, the concept, impression and logic behind introducing digital marketing is to advance the sale and purchase process, attract customers interest and retention, customers access to national and international market, to keep the customer at ease (sale and purchase even from home or anywhere), provision of maximum information on the product, gain attention of customers with loyalty and might be much more. All the above is just a click away and at the door step in digital marketing, simply I comprehend that all the efforts move around, to keep the buyer or customer at ease, that is the ideology I derived from the digital marketing.
I will not move to further details and I think the crucial and central aspects are covered to some extent. Now moving to the next, firstly, I would like to highlight the ‘PROs’ or advantages of digital marketing. This advanced system of business has certainly attractive benefits, like as I said earlier that commitment, loyalty and open-mindedness is essential so if you move ahead keeping in view the mentioned three points, the digital marketing will enable you to engage the customer and will support to build durable relationship with your customer, the digital marketing has the potential to keep you ahead of any competition because your trade mark will be authenticated, you will be approached by the exact buyer/s, if your approach and selection of audience is precise your revenue will definitely improve, and since you are successful in building durable relationship with your customers, you will unquestionably get rich and pure feedback which will help and support you in further improvement, not only in sales and purchase but also in developing/ producing quality product and selection of quality materials.
Now moving to ‘CONs’ or disadvantages, we must understand and be ready that when we think of business and marketing we have to be open-minded and be thoughtful that where there is benefit, loss does exist there as well. So apart from the advantages, the disadvantages do exist. The first and foremost is that digital marketing is time consuming, whether someone is developing content for advertisement or searching for audience or customer, it definitely takes time and sometimes one might face a competitive scenario or environment so one needs to put more efforts on various aspects of marketing which will take enough of one’s time.
The second disadvantage is the technological aspect, as certain people might not have the expertise in technology and when there is any technological issue, the marketing will be halted (even temporarily) and by certain time one might come across the cost issue (the market cost might change), the third aspect of disadvantage which is quite crucial, is the security and safety of the data, as there are examples of data theft and account hag issues, the data and secrets could be stolen or destroyed, since the total dependency of digital marketing is on internet technology therefore if there is a major technological issue/s such as accessibility issues then the time and efforts come to a standstill position. Another disadvantage which one might come across is the fast pace in global competition which might affect the cost and price maters etc.
Coming to the conclusion, I would suggest in the light of all the above information that one who decides to enter the Digital Marketing must be well aware and be prepared and should do the analysis of pros and cons first, the analysis should be in the light of the planned investment. Last but not the least, I believe that the person should consider the disadvantages first (before making a final decision), comparing to the advantages, as the disadvantages provide more insight on whether to enter the Digital Market or wait and get further information and explore strategies and possibilities.
