Poison-free mangoes for home plants: A different experience in fighting severe drought and pests

For amateur gardeners, the joy of seeing fruits on a tree planted by their own hands is unmatched by any other joy in the world. This year, our mango tree has budded well and initially yielded abundantly. But nature is beyond anyone's control! Many mangoes have fallen prematurely due to severe drought and heat. This happened because the roots of the trees dried up due to drought. Still, by the grace of God, the number of mangoes that are still on the tree now fills the mind with satisfaction. Seeing these green, fresh mangoes hanging in bunches between the leaves on the branches of the tree will make anyone's eyes water.

Everything was going well, but at this late hour, like every time, a serious insect attack has started on the tree. The insect that bores holes in the mangoes and lays eggs inside is basically the 'Mango Fruit Fly'. Especially when the fruit starts to grow a little bigger and mature, this fly pierces the mango and lays its eggs inside. Later, the eggs hatch and the larvae or worms come out and eat the juicy part inside the mango and destroy it, and the mango rots and falls from the tree.

Last year, about 90 percent of our mango trees were destroyed by the terrible attack of this fruit fly. When the fruits that have been grown with so much care rot and spoil before our eyes, it feels very bad. This time too, the insect attack is going on quite well in the tree. However, this time I thought, at the last moment, so that all the mangoes do not get destroyed like last year, I will use a 'sex pheromone trap' on the tree. This is a completely poison-free method, so harmful insects will be controlled and the mango will not be harmed.

may be wondering why we are not spraying pesticides even after so many insect attacks! Actually, we do not grow these mangoes to sell in the market. These are kept entirely for the consumption of our own family and relatives. Since our own family members, especially children, will eat them, we refrain from using any kind of harmful chemical pesticides or poisons on the trees from the beginning.

The amount of harmful chemicals mixed in the fruits bought from the market these days is a serious threat to our health. Thinking about it from that perspective, I have no regrets even if half of the mangoes are destroyed due to insect attacks. The mangoes that survive are at least completely poison-free, healthy and 100% safe. The incomparable satisfaction of eating these poison-free fresh sweet mangoes from our own garden with the whole family cannot be compared to anything else. It is truly a matter of great luck to be able to eat such pure and poison-free mangoes at this time.

Finally, I will say that nature runs on its own rules. We are extremely satisfied with how many mangoes survive for us in the end after fighting drought and insects. And I hope that this time we will get very good results by using pheromone traps. I am so happy to share these fresh green mango pictures from my tree with my friends in the Hive Garden community. Wishing everyone good health and a beautiful garden.
