The SEC case against SolarWinds and their CISO has opened a hornet’s nest and half of the cybersecurity community is up in arms, claiming that the SEC is unfairly making CISOs the scapegoats, when they are only trying to do their difficult job. WRONG!
This case is not a general attack on CISOs, but rather a specific case of fraud that intentionally and unfairly deceived investors.

Clear arguments for a messy case!
When companies become too big to fail, failure becomes both inevitable and the failure is bound to be catastrophic.
A large number of the investment tools put together by Bain Capital failed.
It seems to me that the SolarWind failure was the result of actions taken by investors seeking to dominate the CISO market. It is not the result of the CISO community.
