Understanding Hades Head With Thermodynamics

The Logic of Thermodynamics

I have been searching for some new topics to learn due to boredom and it came to me how much i actually remember from some school subjects when i studied them years ago, how my perspective of them could change once i revisited them, you know, like rewatching and old movie, then i thought it would be a good idea to share the experience, so let’s begin with whatever calls my attention, which in this case is thermodynamics, cause it’s hot as fuck in here.

Okay. So It is easier to grasp this idea if you visibly imagine air particles as little dots inside container boxes, the more of them, the more they move bumping into each other therefore generating movement, when you move too much or touch something too much, you make it hotter, energetic, this builds heat. Curiously, Hades head in Hercule's animation is almost always blue fire except when enraged, but blue fire is hotter than yellow fire, interesting right?

So, anyway. The less of the little dots, the more space they have to go and not bump into each other, this means less work, less energy, less heat. They generally go from hot to cold due to looking for more space to be, so they stabilize the temperature.

The same could be said for pressure. If you take a jar of water, which are basically little particles together, and then squeeze the water down by putting something heavy on top of the water, the more pressure they have so they look for a place to go. The water could begin to leak or break the bottom of the jar if you squeeze it too fast, to a more open space with less pressure, like the atmosphere. In a sense this works everywhere cause everything is these little dots interacting to form something.

In much broader examples, you can see many thermodynamic systems are at work in the natural world. That sun you see in the sky is the ultimate energy source for the earth, warming the air, the ground, and the oceans. Huge masses of air move over the earth’s surface. Giant currents of water swirl in the oceans. This movement and swirling happens because of the transformation of heat into work. Energy takes many different forms — it can’t be created or destroyed, but it can change form. This statement is one of the fundamental laws of thermodynamics.

One thing people have observed about energy is that it flows in a preferred direction. This observation is another fundamental law of thermodynamics. Heat flows from a hot object to a cold object. Wind blows from a region of high pressure to a region of low pressure. Some forms of energy are developed by forces of nature. Air bubbles move upwards in water against gravity because buoyancy forces them to rise. Water droplets fall in the atmosphere because the force of gravity pulls them toward the ground.

So basically, Thermodynamics can be defined as the study of energy, energy transformations and its relation to matter. With its laws being:

0. Zeroth law of thermodynamics: states that if two systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third system, then they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other.

1. First law of thermodynamics: one of the most fundamental laws of nature is the conservation of energy principle. It simply states that during an interaction, energy can change from one form to another but the total amount of energy remains constant.

2. Second law of thermodynamics: energy has quality as well as quantity, and actual processes occur in the direction of decreasing quality of energy.

3. Third law of thermodynamics: states that the entropy of a perfect crystal approaches zero as the temperature approaches absolute zero (0 Kelvin).

This image shows other basic properties of thermodynamics on a macroscopic and microscopic view, since the applications of the laws differ in each perspective.

Not only that but there are multiple variants in terms of testing thermodynamics systems such as pressure, the force exerted by a fluid per unit area, the properties of a system, state and equilibrium, processes and cycles, and so on, along with many formulas made for these definitions to be applicable or that were the means to find out these definitions. I could explain them in a later note.
