Two different species of lizards | Photography

I see two kinds of lizards three or four days ago. The camera was with me. So there is an opportunity to take photos. About 7,000 species of lizards live around the world. Some of them can climb trees and some walk on the ground. People are a bit disturbed and afraid of them.

This lizard was resting on a small bushy tree. I don't know what species it actually is. I found them very calm. They can run away very quickly.

It is a Monitor lizards. Its number is not less in the world. This species of lizard is carnivorous. They can hunt chicks, ducklings easily. Small insects are their favorite food.

If you notice, you will see that they have four legs. They run fast because of having four legs. However, there are some species that have no legs. If you think of them as snakes, you could be wrong. They have a long tail like a snake. Males often engage in fights with other males.

Lizards have teeth. Their tooth patterns evolved depending on their diet. Their diet includes meat, insects, grass etc. The tongue may extend out of the mouth like a snake but their tongue is much longer. The monitor lizard you can see in the pictures below my pictures has a forked tongue and some species of food lizards have such tongues. They use the tongue exclusively to understand the environment. Chameleons hunt with very long sticky tongues that stick to their tongues like magnets.

Lizards have sight, touch, smell and hearing. Geckos rely on keen eyesight to judge distance. Monitor lizards have acute senses of sight, hearing, and smell, which they use at all times for hunting and defense. Chameleons can turn their eyes to different angles. Many species of lizards use their sense of hearing to forewarn predators and flee if they hear the slightest sound of danger. Some monitor lizards use their tongues to smell.

Monitor lizards produce powerful venom in their oral glands that help them hunt and defend themselves. If bitten by a lace monitor, you can quickly lose consciousness from envenomation. Its venom, through its pharmacological effects, causes massive bleeding and lowers blood pressure and prevents blood clotting, which can lead to death in any animal. Just as snakes produce the same type of venom, lizards also produce 9 types of venom that are similar to snake venoms. Medicines can be made using lizard venom.

Lizards are found worldwide, including in our country. Our country is very warm and they prefer to live in this kind of environment. Lizards may be rare or absent in countries with extreme environments where survival is very difficult. Most lizards live primarily on the ground, but there are many species, such as the species in my first photo, that live in trees. Many other species can live on rocks, underground and even in water.
