Mpox or monkey pox outbreaks have recently increased in African countries and WHO has declared a state of emergency. Recently, 450 people have died in Congo and over 500 people worldwide. The disease has also spread outside of Africa, with one being detected in Sweden. Apart from this, three people have been infected with monkey pox in Pakistan in Asia. Therefore, experts believe that it can spread across the world like Corona, and the World Health Organization (WHO) has asked for international cooperation to control the disease.
Mpox or monkey pox is a viral disease in which a patient with the disease develops a rash on the face, body, hands and feet, which is hard and then pus there. However, it is known that it is not as dangerous as chicken pox but can spread easily
The disease was first identified in monkeys hence its name was proposed as monkey pox by WHO. Now people abbreviate it as MpoX. But the source of this disease is not only monkeys but also mice, rats, squirrels etc. this virus spreads.
This disease can be spread in different ways. If you have sex with an infected person, another person can get this disease. This disease can be spread by sneezing, coughing, saliva etc. Can also spread from the patient's used clothes, towels, etc. The disease can also spread through contact with infected animals and eating undercooked meat. Those who are used to free and uncontrolled sex should be careful.
The primary symptoms of mpox patients include fever. May cause muscle aches and sore throat. After that the swelling comes out and the lymph nodes get swollen. Joint pain and headache can also occur. The rash may appear in 6 to 13 days and the rash may appear more on the face. Pus gradually accumulates in the rash. Mpox is sometimes mistaken for chicken pox by people. Mpox can cause pain in the anal tract.
If such symptoms appear, you should go to the doctor. Doctors can perform PCR or biopsy tests to detect monkey pox as these two tests are reliable for diagnosing Mpox.
No specific treatment has been discovered for Mpox yet. However, the doctor may ask you to follow some rules and use some anti-viral drugs. Besides, they will ask the patient to stay in a separate room so that the disease does not spread to others.
To be safe from Mpox, we all need to be aware. Stay away from monkeys, rats, mice, squirrels. Do not be in contact with dead animals. The affected person's room cannot be entered. Clothes, towels, etc. used by the affected person cannot be used. Do not engage in immoral sexual relations. All should wear surgical masks in areas where the disease has spread. The affected person's personal belongings should be cleaned. Everyone should keep themselves clean. Undercooked meat should not be eaten. Wash your hands regularly with soap.
