My Latest Book: The $35 Million Deepfake Heist
I have a new book I'd like to share with the community: The $35 Million Deepfake Heist.
The idea behind it is simple enough to be unsettling. What happens when a convincing lie can be created with technology, and people have no easy way to tell whether what they're seeing is genuine?
The book takes that idea into a crime story involving deception, digital manipulation and a very large sum of money. Beyond the heist itself, I was interested in the people involved and the role that trust plays when appearances can no longer be taken at face value.
It's a subject that feels increasingly relevant as digital technology becomes more sophisticated and the difference between authentic and fabricated material gets harder to judge.
I won't give away the plot here. If the subject interests you and you'd like to discover the whole story, you can find the book on Kobo:
The $35 Million Deepfake Heist
A German version is also available on MEB: Der 35-Millionen-Dollar-Deepfake-Coup.
Welcome to Hive, @mm70! The focus on trust in The $35 Million Deepfake Heist caught my attention—especially what happens to the people involved when appearances stop being reliable. InLeo Threads (inleo.io) could be a good place to share spoiler-free questions about deepfakes and connect with people interested in digital technology. Did the story begin with the heist idea, or with a character facing a convincing deception?
