It's funny to see this today after just listening to an interview where it was mentioned how radiation damages our mitochondria and this has been seen in people who work in the space station. I wonder if this is another hurdle we face in space exploration as we move even further away from the earth's protective atmosphere. Can we survive a trip to Mars in a healthy enough state?

I don't believe it, radiation is very harmful, like nuclear radiation, prolonged exposure would kill us.

On Mars you have to terraform first to form a protective magnetic field.

And on the moon, underground habitats would have to be created.
