100 Miles Boost in 5 Mins.

StoreDot has unveiled a prototype EV battery (I-BEAM XFC) with extremely fast charging (XFC). According to the company, the new battery can be recharged by 100 miles of range (about 160 km) in just 5 minutes. Charging with such high currents is possible thanks to an innovative battery cooling system, in this solution each cell is cooled directly and not the entire battery, thanks to which there is no point overheating of individual battery cells that threatens spontaneous combustion. The I-BEAM XFC is still a prototype, but the company has already secured several patens associated with it and is preparing for series production.

I think so too. As long as there is a suitable network of chargers.

I wonder how big the charging current has to be?

And I think that's just the beginning.

I am not worried about man-made global warming. That is a an unproven theory. But if the cars around me can last longer with this tech and work better for others, that's a win.
