Gear-Test: Outdoor-Working mit dem Tomcase Sonnenschutz – Top oder Flop? [GER/ENG]

Ich freu mich schon suf den Sommer, daher habe ich mich nach Möglichkeiten umgesehen, meinen Workflow nach draußen zu verlegen, ohne mit Spiegelungen auf dem Display kämpfen zu müssen.

Zum Testen habe ich jetzt den Sonnenschutz von TomCase.de hier und möchte meine ersten Eindrücke mit euch teilen.

🛠 Die Verarbeitung
Der erste Eindruck ist exzellent. Das Material wirkt wertig und langlebig – genau so, wie man es sich für Outdoor-Equipment wünscht.
Für mein spezielles Setup ist allerdings eine kleine Anpassung nötig: Ich werde an den Seiten meines Inlays noch etwas Material „wegschneiden“ müssen. Das ist kein großes Ding, aber notwendig, damit der Sonnenschutz nahtlos in den unteren Teil des Koffers passt und sich alles sauber schließen lässt. Ein bisschen Bastelarbeit gehört ja dazu.

🔭 Montage & Stativ
Ein technisches Highlight ist die Montageschiene am Boden des Cases:

• Passform: Sie sitzt perfekt auf dem Stativkopf.
• Haptik: Es fühlt sich sehr stabil und sicher an, nichts wackelt.

⚠️ Wichtiger Hinweis zum Gewicht
Auf meinen Fotos seht ihr ein recht kompaktes Stativ. Hier muss ich aber eine klare Warnung aussprechen: Die Kombination aus dem robusten Case und dem MacBook hat ein ordentliches Gewicht! Mein aktuelles Stativ kommt da definitiv an seine Grenzen.

Mein Rat: Nutzt ein Heavy-Duty-Stativ, das ein paar Klassen größer ist als das auf meinen Bildern, damit euer teures Equipment nicht beim kleinsten Windstoß kippt.

☀️ Einsatzzweck
Natürlich muss es nicht immer das Stativ sein. Die Konstruktion eignet sich auch perfekt, um sie einfach auf den Gartentisch oder die Terrasse zu stellen. Der Blendschutz funktioniert super und ermöglicht es, auch bei direkter Sonne ☀️ produktiv zu bleiben und nicht nur das eigene Spiegelbild im Display zu sehen.

🛠 Workmanship
My first impression is excellent. The material looks high-quality and durable—exactly what you want for outdoor equipment.
However, my specific setup requires a small adjustment: I will have to "cut away" some material from the sides of my inlay. It's no big deal, but it's necessary so that the sunshade fits seamlessly into the lower part of the case and everything closes properly. A little bit of tinkering is part of the process.

🔭 Mounting & tripod
A technical highlight is the mounting rail on the bottom of the case:

• Fit: It sits perfectly on the tripod head.
• Feel: It feels very stable and secure, nothing wobbles.

⚠️ Important note about weight
In my photos, you can see a fairly compact tripod. However, I must issue a clear warning here: the combination of the sturdy case and the MacBook is quite heavy! My current tripod definitely reaches its limits here.

My advice: use a heavy-duty tripod that is a few sizes larger than the one in my pictures so that your expensive equipment doesn't tip over at the slightest gust of wind.

☀️ Intended use
Of course, it doesn't always have to be a tripod. The design is also perfect for simply placing it on the garden table or terrace. The anti-glare shield works great and allows you to remain productive even in direct sunlight ☀️ and not just see your own reflection in the display.
